About the Project
A Living Biography of the Prophet ﷺ
Seerah Preview is a reading home for the complete events database of the Prophetic biography — 30 events narrated so far of 841 planned, built to grow with every update of a single manifest file.
Why This Project Exists
عن المشروعThe Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is traditionally taught as a sequence of events — a blessed chronology stretching from the marriage of Abdullah and Aminah, through the revelation at the Cave of Hira, to the farewell pilgrimage and the passing of the best of creation. This project preserves that chronological spirit in digital form: every event is a self-contained JSON document, written in a scholarly register with its full chain of evidence — Qur'anic verses, hadith, notable narrations with their isnads, and the weighing of the scholars.
The name Seerah Preview reflects its nature: a preview into the blessed life — "Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) — Complete Events Database" — rendered with the reverence that the subject demands: Amiri calligraphy for the Arabic, a calm emerald-and-gold manuscript palette, generous measure and leading for long reading, and a dark mode for night study.
How It Stays Universal
كيف يتجدّد الموقعThe whole website regenerates itself from your data — no code changes needed.
Drop the event file
Place 0006_ulas_and_saqib_suckling.json-style files (same schema as every other
event) into the /events folder of the repository.
Update index.json
Add the event's entry to event_list (serial, name, file, era, date) and bump
events_written. The manifest is the single source of truth.
Push to Git
Cloudflare Pages rebuilds automatically: the homepage, timeline, stats, event pages, related links, sitemap and RSS feed all regenerate from the new data.
The build is deliberately forgiving. An event listed in the manifest whose file is not written yet
renders a dignified "narrative in preparation" page rather than a broken link; a file that exists
but is not yet listed still gets its own reachable page; and filenames are matched first by their
exact name and then by serial prefix (0007_*), so small naming slips never break
anything.
The Event Schema
بنية الحدثEvery event JSON keeps the same format (schema v2.0).

Sources of the Data
مصادر البياناتThe event documents draw upon the classical Seerah corpus — Ibn Ishaq, Ibn Kathir's Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya, Ibn Sa'd's Al-Tabaqat al-Kubra, al-Bayhaqi's Dala'il an-Nubuwwah, Qadi Iyad's Al-Shifa — together with Martin Lings' Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources.
